3/16/2008 - Gustavo Lepe has agreed to be project manager for Summer projects. We hope to finish the roof on the boys dorm, build a fence around the property and possibly tile the floors and plaster the walls. This will be a great opportunity for you to join one of the teams that go down this summer. Please contact me at 770-605-0592 for more information.
5/1/2008 - Gustavo is at the orphanage making progress. There are several mission trips scheduled for this summer. Depending on air fare at the time it cost about $1500-$2000 for a 10 day trip per person. Please contact me if you are interested in a trip. If you haven't been on a trip before get ready for a life changing event.

Mama Tara Miskit Orphanage Newsletter - From Cathy Cantelli and Cathy Gunard
It s official! We received the good news recently that our dear friend Gustavo Lepe and his two friends, Enemecio and Adolfo have agreed to go down to Puerto Lempira to do a project for the Mama Tara Orphanage. They want to begin the project the first week in May and hope to be finished by the last week of June. Gustavo Lepe Agrees to Head Up 2 Month Building Project at the Orphanage.
The project the men will be working on is to totally renovate and finish the original building, which we are now calling Casita A .Gustavo plans to raise the roof and replace some of the roofing panels with translucent panels to let natural lighting come in. They will redo the plumbing in the bathrooms and raise the flooring, plaster the walls and tile the floors. We are hoping that some of the painting can be done by any mission team going down to visit the orphans. The Lord is sending, not one, but two young women, from two different backgrounds and two different countries to help Mama Tara at the orphanage. This is the most exciting news! One of the ladies is Tara Germain, from Canada, who discovered us on the internet, on our website. The other is a young girl named Griselia, who is from Honduras. Both came to be burdened for Mama Tara and the kids around the same time. Both are more than qualified in various ways to help out. Tara, who is in her twenties, probably has more missionary experience than Griselia, having spent 5 years in Y-WAM and other short term missions, however, Griselia speaks the language and has already been to the orphanage on a short term mission trip this past Fall. Griselia also works with one of our Board members, Lisa Bradley, who is a full time missionary with Loma De Luz, which is a hospital in Belfate, Honduras. After interviews with the ladies and much prayer and deliberation, the BOD agreed that both Tara and Griselia will be a great blessing to this ministry. Both plan to be at the orphanage in April. We give thanks to the Lord for this most recent answer to our prayers. Now we make a request of all of our faithful partners and friends to continue praying for the funds to come in. Just like we did on our last project, we stepped out in faith, that the money would come in, and it did, we feel that the same will apply for this situation. So please join with us and pray for all the provisions to come into alignment.

Jeremias, Elmer and Max with Katie and Cathy Guenard in La Ceiba in December We received an update on Max and Jeremias recently, by email from Sharon Washburn, with whom the boys are staying in La Ceiba. It seems that the boys are adjusting quite nicely. It wasn t always the case, as there were quite a lot of adjustments for all of them to make. Thankfully, through prayer, and Sharon and Earl s parent al wisdom, the boys are transitioning well. They are doing their school work, helping out with chores in and around the house and school, and basically beginning t o have a taste of what it s like to be in a family.
Update On Max and Jeremias Prayer Requests --Protection and provision for Mama Tara and the children. --For the funds for the projects to come in before Gustavo goes down in May. --For Tara and Griselia : * traveling mercies and protection * no serious adjustment problems * wisdom to know how to relate to a different environment and culture. * good attitudes and obedience from the children. * all over good health for everyone there --Pray for Max and Jeremias in their adjustments living with the Washburns, for flexibility, and obedience, and also that the boys will do well in their studies
